What the hell have I been doing the past 2 weeks?

What the hell have I been doing the past 2 weeks!
I’ve been Organizing my life even better and taking my game to the next level.
I’m all over the place – I have constant energy and drive and am extremely passionate about what I do. I know I always have room for improvement. The past
several days or so I’ve really been ‘AWARE’ of what’s going on and where I want to focus on increased improvement. Mostly I want to tighten my professional game even further and embrace my creative side, while increasing output with my two businesses.
Taking a look at my life from a high level.
Every few months, I like to take the 30,000′ view of my life in regards to my health (spiritual, mental, physical, emotional, etc., I’m thorough), my
relationships, career, and creative views both professionally and personally. This helps me stay on track.
I’ve been writing the next chapter.
Something that works well for me is to focus on my goals and create a roadmap to get there. Yes, sounds simple – it is somewhat. It’s necessary. Without
charting a goal and directions it’s challenging to see if you are on course. I refer to the next chapter as I find that people often refer to difficult times
as ‘the story of my life’ and decided years ago that my story would always be an awesome one. It works!
Tightening my game professionally.
I’m going to start sharing more about what I do. Sometimes I don’t, it’s primarily as I DO A LOT. I’m very aware of my skills and ability, and even more
importantly, where I lack – so i can learn or connect with other like-minded professionals in these areas. I’ve taken my ‘anti-marketer’ stance on Twitter
WAY too freaking far to the point that people often ask me what I do. Considering my profession, this shoemaker needs shoes!
I’m managing partner with Regillo Consulting Group, a company I founded in 1991. It’s been my dream since youth to help businesses grow using technology. My
career has blessed me with opportunities to work with several Fortune5 manufacturing companies around the globe. You can learn more on our main corporate
site as well as a new launch we’re planning to focus on small and medium businesses – while poking fun at our name here.
This week I finished Regillo.NET Entrepreneur’s Web Hosting
HELPSBusinesses.com Humanize, Engage, Listen, Promote & Sell.
I am President of Williger, Inc., which oversees all my websites and domains. It’s also a well managed business that I want to improve even more. In the past 10 days, I’ve built over 15 different websites – the next one will be a website that talks about all my websites.
I have even more projects going on too – AND I have an awesome balance in my life, which I’ve retweaked recently as well.
Been taking a serious look at health.
As mentioned in my QDR – Quarterly Darren Review I look at lots of things. As I approach 40 I wanted to make sure that physically and nutritionally I was
getting all the things I needed. Honestly, I’m aware of how closely I do look at health. I’ve lost 50 lbs this year, I workout daily, and have a tightly
tuned nutritional supplemention program.
Connecting with people in person.
I’ve had the INCREDIBLE experiences meeting Tweeple in person. Bar-none! This is an awesome statistic, considering I’ve met with hundreds of people. A meeting recently that made me want to take my game up a notch in SEVERAL areas was dinner with @thinkglink, @mRELEVANCE, and @AtlantaPR for sushi. I should have made an entire blog about meeting these great folks in person – but most importantly – I wanted to be better. I like that. A lot.
I need to be challenged more.
I need to focus on CONSTANT engagement with other people with similar interests – and I get a TON Of that from Twitter as I have so many interests and have been blessed with so many friends. I also get this through my mastermind group and other activities offline. Again, I feel so fortunate to have such great people in my life, lately even phone conversations have developed into mini-mastermind success calls.
Downtime is a good thing too.
I feared ignoring too much of my physical world. Most importantly, and she says I’m wrong here – but my girlfriend Jen. She’s awesome, I love this woman and she’s very supportive. We’ve had some awesome offline fun just hanging out more lately. I love my time with her.
I’ll confess something that bothered me (again, didn’t seem to bug her when I called myself out on this) was me having a conversation with her while typing on my computer. She approached from behind, I spoke with her as I typed, and later thought – wow she could have been a green alien with Jen’s voice and I never bothered to know. OK you get my point. Maybe you’ve done this or something like this, or maybe I’m a now-aware jerk. It didn’t harm anyone, but the experience made me aware even more of how important she is to me.
It’s all about balance. I have so many awesome things going on, and I’m fortunate to have good time management skills. I’m retweaked for the EOY push, so I’ll likely not be flaking off of social networks and email for another short while :)
I often feel like the luckiest man in the world. Shalom!

This helps me stay on track. I didn’t plan the disconnect, but embraced the chance to refocus.

I’ve been writing the next chapter.

Downtime is a good thing too.

I’ve been taking more time to enjoy Jen. She’s awesome. We’ve had some awesome offline fun just hanging out more lately. I love my time with her. I’ve been cooking more and playing guitar too. Last week I noticed myself having a conversation with Jen with my back turned while typing on my computer – wow she could have been a green alien with Jen’s voice and I never bothered to know. OK you get my point. She didn’t mind, I did. The experience made me aware even more of how important she is to me.

Life is all about balance. I have so many awesome things going on, and I’m fortunate to have good time management skills. I’m retweaked for my EOY plan. ROCK ON!

    Dear Darren,
I enjoyed reading about what you're doing. Like me you have many interests but you have had the privilege of luxuriating in your time. I know that you enjoy food bc you are always posting about yr meals but must be disciplined as you have lost 5o pounds. Keep up the good work there. It seem that as I get older I photosynthesize the calories out of thin air. (Just kidding. But I'm a big cook and a taster and am feeling a bit too jolly after the Jewish Holidays).

I like that you spend time playing your guitar. That's a good thing. Always good to get the creative juices going. I like to play flute and do art; painting, ceramics & gardening mostly but w business focus on the visual merchandising of the store and our advertising. I try to live life creatively but am a bit overwhelmed with the work-a-day world.

This last decade or so we were preoccupied taking care of sick and dying parents; they're gone now. That was a huge distraction with regard to our business concerns. We have a 14 year old boy who is developing into a fine young man -a real mench-our gift to the world.

Hope you can continue to savor the moment. You seem like an interesting person. If you're ever downtown in Chicago.you should let me know and I'll try to meet you. But if you just happen to be by the Merchandise Mart, just stop by. We have regular hours, except for Sunday when we are closed.

You ARE one of the luckiest men in the world. Especially since you know it.
Be well. Must prosperity, Health and Happiness in the 5770.
