A Look at Some Non-Traditional Caffeinated Products

In the past, if you needed a caffeine rush, all that you had to do was brew a cup of coffee or buy a six pack of soft drinks. Well, times have changed, if you now want caffeine and the energy rush which is typically associated with it, you can drink, eat or chew your way there.

What do you prefer? Mints? Gum? Chocolate Candy? What you prefer doesn’t really matter; caffeine can be transported through your bloodstream through any of the above choices. The question most people would be tempted to ask is why? Why are so many companies releasing caffeinated candies and candy-type products when you can easily get caffeine at your local convenience store through Coca-Cola and Pepsi products? It’s not a terrible question but the answer most people think of isn’t the right one. That answer is money and profits. You can get soft drinks through candy or at least you used to be able to. So why not the benefits of soda in a gum?

This was the question that the strategists at Jolt Cola asked themselves and their answer to this question was to produce the Jolt Caffeine Energy Gum. The package even claims to have the same ingredient as the popular soft drink, although the minty flavor isn’t something you usually associated which cola. Each small tab or gum has as much caffeine as a standard cup of coffee. On the Internet where people are free to have opinions without any fear of restraint, the gum gets high marks not only for its ability to give an energy boost but also for being a great piece of chewing gum.

Caffeinated mints present more of a choice than other products. Foosh Energy Mints are the most hyped of all these products, these mints are interesting not only for the attention-grabbing atom design etched onto them but also their size. These are some big mints and they contain an equally large amount of caffeine as well. Make that at least 25% more caffeine than you get in one can of Red Bull.

If Foosh doesn’t do the magic for you, then you have Penguin Mints which claim the title of the first and original caffeinated mint. XTZ Mints is also somewhere on the list and they make an interesting chocolate mint product that gives a great caffeine rush.

Caffeine and chocolate have worked hand in hand with each other for a very long time. Any chocolate bar of any value to it is bound to provide some small caffeine rush. However, this is the 21st century and the caffeine rush needed is more than just a little. If you love chocolate and caffeine and you are not a big fan of mint, then you can have some Buzz Bites. These are chocolate chew candies that provide an energy boost as they’ve pretty much got the same ingredients as typical energy drinks but they have the advantage of coming in candy form for your chewing pleasure.
