One of the meanings of Aikido is “The Way of Harmony with the Spirit”, the martial art is a non-violent martial art. Despite this no one should be deceived, when used properly Aikido can just be as powerful as and even more so than other martial arts. This power can help in effectively neutralizing strong attacks and countering them effectively.

In this world where inflation is the order of the day, and salaries are stagnant making the ends meet, even with only the basic amenities, has become a great challenge. The problem gets compounded when you find yourself crave for a few small pleasure that have now moved out of your reach – such as a good glass of wine occasionally.

This is actually a continuation of my previous entry that got cut off due to phone limitations… Anyway, the iguana update for today. I called Dr. Hinkle this morning to see about bringing in Nietsche after this weekend’s accident. I was told that he may not need to come in as this is normal (tell this to the poor guy who just lost his tail) and to remove the bandages, clean with hydrogen peroxide, and allow it to heal uncovered. He didn’t mind the peroxide, but is still bleeding somewhat. They advised separating him from Junior while he heals, though this is impossible. As I am traveling this week, Tine will check in on the boys tomorrow night. Hopefully all is good, otherwise I will get him to the doc ASAP when I get home. I have a new air travel idea… The airlines should charge by a person’s weight before they fly. I would definitely be motivated by this (Darren, we will pay your flight up to 185lbs, after that the ‘fat fare’ is all yours). Seriously, they have weight limits which require certain amounts of empty seats, why not a tubby tax? OK off to catching up with email and enough ramblings (at least for now)….

The martial art of Aikido has its origins in both spirituality and philosophy. It is also influenced by the Omoto-kyo religion which was the religion of its founder Morihei Ueshiba. Aikido is derived from three Japanese characters. “Ai” translates to joining; “Ki” means spirit while “Do” means a way. If you translate this loosely this becomes a way of joining the spirit.

While on vacation we received a call from friends who were checking in on our pets. When learning of Jennifer the Iguana’s condition we advised emergency treatment and located your facility online. We received a call from Dr. Seagull promptly after our friends dropped her off and they even waited around until the doctor phoned us for her consultation.

In spite of the common belief, winemaking is a very simple process that can be done anywhere with the most ordinary ingredients. This art has come to us, the modern man, though ages and ages of wisdom and experience. In ancient times, winemaking was simple, fast and the result was exceptional. In modern days, there are a lot of ways to make wine, some simple on the lines our ancestors, and some as complicated as you would like them.

Greetings from the friendly skies… This is officially my first in-flight blog entry. Please direct your attention to the flight attendant, who will demonstrate the safety features of our Embrarer 145 Regional Jet Aircraft. For those of you who haven’t been in a car or plane since the 1940’s, allow me to demonstrate how to use this new-fashioned buckle seatbelt. Yikes! Anyway, we sat on the tarmac for only a half an hour this time with about 20 planes lined up behind us. Nice to finally be in the air for my exciting week in Ohio and Michigan. Hey watch out for that unexpected turbulance… The captain has turned on the fasten seatbelt light and this flight is non smoking. I always wonder how old these airplanes are when they have ashtrays and I don’t think people have been allowed to smoke in planes for over 20 years.
